The Madison Hotel

15th and M Streets, NW

Washington, DC 20005

Written by Jeff Heath
The Madison Hotel is named after James Madison the fourth President of the United States and "Father of the Constitution." This one-of-a-kind property opened in 1963. Like a grand mansion of yesteryear, the Madison Hotel
has rare antiques and works of art that have been carefully collected over the years on display throughout the hotel. Some pieces include several rare Louis XVI furnishings and a magnificent lobby chandelier hanging above a Chinese Imperial altar table. The hotel's Federal Period décor is reminiscent of James and Dolly Madison's stately Virginia home, Montpelier.

The Madison Hotel Location

The Madison Hotel is located just five blocks from the White House and about ten blocks from the National Mall, the park that stretches about two-and-one-half miles from the Lincoln Memorial to the U.S. Capitol Building. In addition to the National Monuments, the attractions
